In addition to the receipt, storage and analysis of research study specimens, the CRLB has the experience and capability to provide complete central Laboratory Services including the development of specimen collection manuals, processing protocols, kit development and supply, and sample shipment protocols.
Specimen Collection
- Work with investigators to maximize specimen integrity at source
- Advise on sampling procedures and test selection
- Design protocol-specific requisitions, visit-specific specimen collection kits, shipping containers, sample storage containers, labels, and related shipping documents
- IATA-compliant specimen collection kits and transport containers
- Detailed collection and processing instructions
Study kits - Investigator manual inserts
- Distribution of visit-specific kits and/or bulk supplies
- Key staff are available from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm to provide assistance to study site personnel via phone, fax or e-mail
Specimen Transportation
- Transport logistics designed to preserve specimen integrity and based on over 20 years experience
- Real-time tracking of shipments allows CRLB staff to intervene and follow up to ensure timely delivery
- Extensive experience with nitrogen vapor shipper transport technology, dry ice and ambient shipment of cryovial and filter paper specimens
