Glucose Beckman Coulter UniCel

Glucose Beckman Coulter UniCel

Used for the determination of serum glucose on the Beckman Coulter UniCel DxC600 Synchron Clinical System.

Instrument: Beckman Coulter UniCel DxC600

Specimen Type: Serum

NOTE: Unable to report results for hemolyzed specimens.

Volume per test: 3uL (min volume 125uL)

Principle:

Glucose concentration is measured using a timed endpoint method. The Synchron® System automatically proportions the appropriate sample and reagent volumes into the cuvette at a ratio of 1:100. Hexokinase catalyses the transfer of a phosphate group from adenosine triphosphate to glucose to form adenosine diphosphate and glucose-6-phosphate. The glucose-6-phosphate is then oxidized to 6-phosphogluconate with the concomitant reduction of β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide to reduced β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide by the catalytic action of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. The change in absorbance at 340 nm is directly proportional to glucose in the sample, and is used by the system to calculate and result glucose concentration.

Testing Range: 0.3-38.8 mmol/L
